Haunted House by Mitsukazu Mihara

Rated OT for Older Teens 16+ from Tokyopop

The North Branch Library has this single volume titles.

This is the place to discuss Haunted House. I'm not going to tell you to avoid all spoilers, but do be careful and keep in mind that not everyone has read all the books (so far!) And if you haven't read them all, just be aware that there may be spoilers in the comments.

I thought this was a very odd little book. In some ways it reminded me of The Munsters, with its family of monsters and one normal child. In this case, the normal one is the narrator who gets so humiliated whenever his weird family shows up. Look beyond the goth trappings, and there is a story which can speak to all of us since who doesn't sometimes feel like the oddball in their family? Who doesn't get embarrased by their parents and siblings? And who doesn't come to realize that despite all the differences, there is a loving core at the heart of the family?
