Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z by Akira Toriyama

Rated T for Teen 13+ from VIZ Media

The North Branch Library has books volumes 4-9 and 12 of Dragon Ball and books volumes 2, 3, 8, 10-11, 13-14, and 18-20 of Dragon Ball Z.

This is the place to discuss the series Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z. I'm not going to tell you to avoid all spoilers, but do be careful and keep in mind that not everyone has read all the books (so far!) And if you haven't read them all, just be aware that there may be spoilers in the comments.

I swear this series was created just to vex me--and I haven't even read it! Is it Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z? And is it Dragon Ball or Dragonball? After going through Wikipedia and the VIZ Media website, this is what I've come up with. The original Japanese series is 42 volumes and is just called Dragon Ball. The English version was also called Dragon Ball. Then the anime series started showing up in America, but under the name Dragon Ball Z. So the name of the book series was changed to Dragon Ball Z starting with volume 17 (which became volume 1.) So, really, what we have at the North Branch is volumes 5-8 and volumes 17-19. (Can you hear my head exploding?)
